TOPIC: Child Support

Child Support 1 year, 8 months ago #180

Hi everyone. I am new here. I want to ask your opinion/s regarding this case of mine. I am not married to the father of my daughter. Yet, in the Birth Certificate, my daughter is a legitimate child because he submitted a fake marriage contract to the local civil registrar. Now, my main problem is that he is not giving enough financial support to our daughter. He is working abroad and earning $2,500 a month. But he is only giving 6thousand to 10thousand a month. Not fixed. The one controlling his money is his mother. I wanted to demand for a fixed enough monthly support for our daughter. Can I do that? What is the best thing to do?

I think the best you can do in this situation is for you to talk with your son's dad seriously about the expenses that your child incurs. Show him proof that what he is giving as support is not enough. He is his son so I think he will be very willing and open about it. I think this problem is more of a family one than of legal.
