Good day.
I have a problem concerning Meralco. They sent a demand letter saying I should pay an incredible amount of money for tampering our electric meter.
What happened was that our meter stopped working so I reported the issue to them. They replaced our meter and after their lab tests, they told me that our meter was tampered. I have no knowledge whatsoever that our meter was tampered. My father was the one who had the house built. I was but a student then and when we moved the house was ready for occupancy.
The problem is my father is now dead and I am the breadwinner of the family. I am an ordinary employee and my monthly salary is our sole source of income. I don't have the means to pay that much money and I feel that I don't deserve to be punished like this.
What can I do about this? Please help me.
